William M. Anderson IV, Attorney at Law

William M. Anderson IV founded Anderson Law Offices in 1979, shortly after
earning his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1978. What
began as a downtown Peoria practice has grown into a widely known and
well-respected law firm serving individuals, families, businesses, and municipalities
throughout Central Illinois for approximately five decades. Attorney Anderson began
his career with the prestigious law firm of Kavanaugh, Scully, Sudow, White, & Frederick
of Peoria, IL and in 1979 founded Anderson Law Offices. He has represented and
continues to represent everything from private and public corporations and several
local communities to private individuals from any and all walks of life.

Attorney Anderson prefers to be known as “Bill” to his clients, opponents, and
Judges throughout the State of Illinois and his reputation is widely known and
recognized for his exceptional ability to understand and process knowledge and
arguments at an incredible speed, employing his flexible mind honed through
tens of thousands of cases and trials, and an enormous breadth of legal, business,
and life experiences.Bill often finds solutions where others have failed to do so. It is
very common for other attorneys to seek his advice and counsel on difficult and complex
legal issues. Indeed, much of Attorney Anderson’s practice consists of work referred to
him by other attorneys seeking his unusual skills and experience to find a solution
where others have failed to be able to do so.

In his private time, Bill’s unusual abilities have drawn him to extreme sports including many years’  experiences as a pilot of high-performance aerobatic aircraft and a skydiver with over a thousand  jumps. Each of these skydives involved hurtling to the earth at approximately 125 mph and opening his main canopy approximately 12 seconds before impact with the earth. This intense life or death pressure makes Bill come alive and is an example of why he is such an effective litigator, counselor,  and negotiator. Sometimes losing or quitting is not an option. When that happens, Bill is the man to  have in your corner.

Once accepted as a client of Anderson Law Offices, Bill believes that each client is entitled to the same courtesy, dignity, and dedication regardless of their financial circumstances or the size of their case or issue. Attorney Anderson has always dedicated a significant portion of his practice to serving the needs  of the less fortunate and underprivileged and has been locally recognized for his pro-bono efforts. Attorney Anderson has an uncanny ability to see legal issue and problems through different lenses and perspectives often leading to innovative and creative solutions to legal issues that clients may not have been able to recognize, meeting the needs of clients in all different ways.

Working alongside the firm’s dedicated staff, Attorney Anderson believes that every client deserves honest advice, personal attention, and experienced representation. He has prosecuted and defended cases fearlessly and successfully against many opponents that others would fear to oppose. He is licensed in State and Federal Courts and has argued cases throughout Central Illinois in State, Federal, Appellate, and Supreme Courts. For generations, clients throughout Central Illinois have relied on
William M. Anderson IV and Anderson Law Offices for experienced legal representation grounded in professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to serving their clients and communities.

One of Bill’s greatest joys in life was having the opportunity to work alongside his daughter, Kaitlin.  Their time together at Anderson Law Offices was so much more than simply working side by side—it was a part of the legacy they were building together, and a bond that meant so much to him. He was immensely proud of Kaitlin and all that she had accomplished, and he would have been beaming with pride to watch her finish her final semester of law school, graduate, be sworn in as an attorney, and ultimately carry on his legacy at Anderson Law Offices.
